D1 Killer #1: Lack of Strength
Welcome back to Day 2! I'm Coach Noah from +PWR and today, we'll talk about the first big D1 killer: Lack of Strength
Problems With Not Being Strong:
- Problem: You're not strong enough to compete on a Division 1 roster.
- What it Means: You can’t hang at the college or D1 level where there are 20-22 year-olds all over the diamond
- How it Shows Up: If you can't consistently drive the ball into the gaps, throw out runners in the field, or stay healthy during a season, you probably need to get stronger,
Solution: Get In The Gym
- What to Do: Train 3-4 times per week on a baseball specific workout program - things that will translate directly to the field.
- Why it Helps: You’ll increase your size, strength, explosiveness, and durability.
- Example: Start by implementing the French contrast method training technique. Do this for your upper body and lower body twice per week each.
What to Expect Next
Increasing your metrics in the weight room will bring you great results on the diamond - leading you to more college offers.
